Recent Acquisitions

I came across this 3/4" scale wood miniature  set of living room furniture this weekend at a small antique store in a nearby town. I really enjoy the Art Deco stenciled graphics and geometric shapes of the furniture.

After doing a little research, I discovered that this is a complete set of living room furniture by the Jaymar company company and sold for $1.89 in 1933.  The line was called "Happy Hour Dollhouse Furniture"

I came across this medal garden bench and and homemade plant stand at a local antique mall.  The bench is marked Raine on the bottom.

I also came across a whole cache of vintage miniatures at an estate sale.  There were two giant plastic bags of this stuff for just $3!

  1. Wow! I need to start going to more estate sales. Of course I have a huge enough hoard that I really shouldn't be adding to it.

Very nice finds! I think the garden bench is my favorite. I'm a sucker for that lacy metal look.

  6. OK note to self. Start going to estate sales! My favorite of all of your purchases is the plant stand...all in all everything is wonderful. Good for you.

  7. Hi, Troy - I just don't know how you do it! I shop at antique stores and estate sales not often, but fairly regularly, and I almost NEVER find any miniatures! And certainly never anything to rival any of your finds - you have an unusual talent! I like the color and the stenciling on the Jaymar set - and how amazing that the entire set was intact. I love that garden bench - what beautiful work - and the plant stand, as well, shows talented workmanship. I'm sure you'll have a good time rummaging through those bags of miscellaneous miniatures. Great finds, as usual!
