Take A Seat

I have added a few more chairs to my Take A Seat Collection
The chairs are manufactured by a company called Willitts and are made from resin with metal accents.  They appear to be about 1" scale.

This chair is called Longhorn and is based on a 1930's design.
I thought it would look great in my cabin project.

This chair is called San Demas and is based on a 1992 design
- its kind of King Tut meets cruise ship?

This wing chair is called Mrs Vanderbilt's Chair and is based on chairs in her bedroom at the Biltmore Estate.  The original chair dates from 1897.

This Art Nouveau chair is called Linear Elegance and the design dates from 1902

This chair is called the Ribbon Chair and is based on a 1965 design

This shiny red chair is called Racing Red and is based on a 1991 design

This chair is simply called Patio and dates from a 1990 design

This last chair is called Full Circle and is based on a 2000 design.

This one is from an estate sale and didn't have the box so
I don't have any info on the year or the name yet.

Simple Gifts

This summer has not left me with much time for miniatures.  I received an email not too long ago from a local resident who had discovered my blog.  She had a collection of architectural items that she had purchased in hopes of building a dollhouse, but had since decided to purchase a pre-finished one instead.  I promised to do something great with the gift.  Here are some of the highlights. - Thanks Nancy!

On another topic - I thought I would show this house that I picked up on Craigslist a while back.  It is a Dylan Dollhouse by Brinca dada.  I was kind of surprised to find one of these for sale in Tulsa Oklahoma!  Right now it is home to a few of my modern chairs from my Willitts collection.

In effort to make some more progress on the studio, I have unpacked a few more boxes.  Mainly accessories - pots, pans, dishes and vases.  I laid some out here in front of the Crescent Moon Cottage to try and figure out where and what to display.

The Crescent Moon Cottage is currently home to my Tynietoy Collection.

I also have been contemplating dividing up the attic into rooms.  I think I can fit 3 rooms comfortably- a bathroom, a game room and a bedroom. I found some scrapbook paper that will work for the bathroom floor.

I picked up the cardboard bookcase at an estate sale a while back.  I did some research and found out it was an old candy box from Germany.  I was shocked to see a few of them for sale for several hundred dollars apiece!  ( I paid $2)

The old beer steins actually came with this house when I won it at auction several years ago.  I have been trying to find a good way to display them in the house somewhere. A game room or "man cave" may be just the place?
