My Strombecker 3/4" Painted Furniture

Here is a post from my archives:

Strombecker started manufacturing 3/4" to one foot scale wood furniture in 1934.  They continued to manufacture variations of the 3/4" scale furniture into the 1950's.  There were updates to the designs in the 1940's and again in the 1950's.  The furniture was sold in box sets for each room.  According to Dian Zillner's book Dollhouse Furniture & Advertising, the sets sold for .47 cents in the 1930's, $1.39 for each room set in the 1940's and $2.49 for each room set in the 1950's.

These pieces are from the MODERN SUN ROOM SET and were part of the "New Modern Design" which rolled out in 1938.

These are some of the accessories that I have.  All of the pieces are made from wood.

My Living Room set consists of pieces from the 1930's and 1940's
The grandfather clock and the radio both have great graphics.

This bathroom set dates from the 1930's.

The Kitchen set dates from the 1930's

The light blue Dining room table and chairs dates from the 1930's

This teal bedroom set dates from the 1930's

This pink bedroom furniture dates from the 1930's and the 1940's

This dining room table and chairs are 3/4" scale and date from the 1950's.

This child's bed and dresser or 'chifforobe' are part of the NURSERY SET and was introduced in 1938. An advertisement from 1939 states that it is  "beautifully enameled in cream and colors"

  2. Hello troy,
How beautiful. I especially love the sun room set and it makes me smile to think how similar modern in 1938 is to modern in 2016.

  6. Troy, I don't know if you answer questions on here, but I'm hoping so. Up above, in your pic of random painted Strombecker pieces, you have 2 plant stands and an orange end table. Some time ago, I saw these pieces displayed in a house. I can't remember WHAT house, but these pieces were specifically painted for the sunroom or solarium of that house. My question is: do you know which house they came with, or what other pieces of furniture go with the planter stand and table? You are missing the planter for your stand, but in another house, I saw a bowl on one of those plant stands.
